The Most Magical Day of Our Lives – A Bride Over 40 Real Wedding

This beautiful Real Wedding has been sent to us by Yvonne at White Gold Photography set in a beautiful venue in Herfordshire.

Introducing the Bride & Groom –  Linda and Keith

Wedding date: 5th April 2013

Venue: Pendley Manor, Tring, Hertfordshire

Photographer: Yvonne at White Gold Images

Linda and Keith originally met twenty three years ago when they worked together, however they were both made redundant and lost touch and many years later they found each other again through the internet.  They have now been together for eight years and married in April this year.

The Proposal

Linda says “Keith proposed on 14th February!   It was so unexpected and he said I answered ‘yes’ before he had finished answering the question!!!!”

Linda says:-

” The whole day was magical.  I spent the day/evening before with my sister Tina at Pendley Manor – we checked in and spent the afternoon in the lovely spa before getting ready for going down to the bar where my other two sisters, Mandy and Nicola and my closest friend Sue met us for a glass of wine and some bar food which was lovely and relaxing.

“I woke the next morning and had a very relaxing breakfast in the restaurant at the venue and then spent morning in our room, face packs, nails, chatting and drinking coffee etc. The hairdresser arrived at 2:30pm and among lots of laughter (some of if quite hysterical) my hair and makeup was done.”

The Wedding Dress

The Wedding Dress was from Coast,

Shoes from Monsoon (Childrens dept Size 2!)

Headdress from Titfers

Underwear from Marks & Spencer

Linda says ” Dress shopping was absolute fun! – I had no intention of buying a wedding dress and tried on lots of lovely day dresses in Phase Eight, John Lewis and Monsoon and then my sister insisted I tried on the only wedding dress in Coast that was in the sale in my size – I fell in love with it straight away and realised that I ‘needed’ to feel like a bride – it only needed shortening”.

“We had such fun and laughter, especially when my sister caught my arm in the zip of one of the dresses. I thought I would be scared for the wedding!!”

Linda’s son Joe (aged 21) was very much involved in the bridal party. He was Keith’s best man, he escorted Linda, his mum down the aisle and he was one of the witnesses.

Linda’s sister, Tina also played a major part in creating their perfect day. As she works as a graphic designer she created all of the invites and stationery that goes with a wedding. She took the theme from the wallpaper in the room that they were to be married in at Pendley Manor.  Tina also was an amazing ‘Gok’ in helping Linda to find the perfect wedding outfit.

Linda says “it could not have been done without her”.

“My son Joe arrived and we had a glass of champagne together before going down to the wedding ceremony – we were escorted by Kristina from the hotel and taken into the adjoining room where Keith and guests were waiting.  Once the door was opened and I was due to walk into the room I unfortunately had the real giggles and Joe told me to ‘get a grip’ (in the nicest way!)”

“I was eventually able to walk to meet my lovely husband to be, to music from the film ‘Amelie’  It was so magical – everyone who is very special to us both was there, including Keith’s aunt Betty and Uncle Cameron from Scotland.  Keith believed that I would be in a trouser suit so was really surprised to see me in the wedding dress! “

“The service was beautiful although I did again get the terrible giggles during the vows!!  We had some lovely readings by my sister Nicola, brother-in-law Eddie and close friend Steve. We had music that Keith had composed during the signing of the register and music by Sigur Ros to leave the room”.

The Wedding Cake was from Marks and Spencer and was decorated by my friends daughter Ellen Keegan aged 17

“We had a fantastic meal after photographs and then evening dance/drinks in the conservatory through til midnight”.

The main feeling of the day was very much love, happiness and laughter along with lots of fun – The most magical day of our lives”
